What was a very serious book about very serious dinosaurs is suddenly interrupted by a hole – a nibbled hole – in the book. Who would do something like that?

Little ones will love trying to find the culprit – Nibbles – hiding among their favorite, easily recognizable dinosaurs. Is he an herbivore? A carnivore? Or … a bookivore?

Emma Yarlett’s Nibbles: The Dinosaur Guide is packed with flaps, folds, facts and die cuts, plus one very naughty monster and an ending to make Houdini proud. But has Nibbles bitten off more than he can chew?

Reviews
Love Love Love Nibbles!!! This book is unique! Love that there's facts about dinosaurs combined with a fictional story featuring a favorite book character! And….Nibbles eats through the back of the book again with wording that suggests another future title!

Fun New Adventure! If you love Nibbles then you will love his new story. He is at his old ways for nibbling through a book. Great if you have the plush to help with adding to the imagination of the story.

About the Author
Emma studied illustration at Falmouth University and graduated with first class honours in 2011. She began work on her first self-penned picture book whilst still studying at university. Emma now lives in Falmouth, Cornwall with her husband Alex. When asked where her ideas come from Emma responded: "I’m quite an imaginative person, and so majority of my ideas come from weird thoughts I’ve had in relation to the world that are then slowly moulded and chipped away at until they become the basis of an idea. It’s often a slow and very involved process that I will spend a lot of time working on, and sometimes will let evolve over months and years in the back of my brain until they are ready to be sketched."

Nibbles—a rowdy, Pac Man–like yellow monster with horns—sabotages a book about dinosaurs in this interactive romp, a follow-up to Nibbles. Readers first see signs of Nibbles in the chew mark die-cut holes in the pages. Yarlett invites readers to help catch the “Book Monster” as he nibbles his way through the chapters. While in pursuit, readers encounter facts about some of the most familiar dinosaurs: “Diplodocus could outrun a human. Diplodocus ate several tons of food every day. Scientists used to believe that Diplodocus had a trunk.” Large flaps give the hide-and-seek element an added kick, while Yarlett depicts the dinosaurs as hams with over (and under) bites, goggle eyes, and goofy expressions. Nibbles meets his match when T. rex nibbles him—and then spits him out of the book. It’s great fun to follow his path of destruction, though readers with a keen interest in dinosaurs may wonder what Nibbles really has to do with them. Ages 6–up
